Pastoral Search

A confessional Baptist church in the Topeka area seeking a pastor called to the office of elder.

Our congregation is prayerfully seeking a new pastor. Pastor Mark Langley plans to retire after many years of faithful service, and we desire a man qualified and called to shepherd this particular Baptist flock.

We welcome inquiries from ministers who are called to eldership (1 Timothy 3:1) and meet the biblical qualifications in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. We hope to know a candidate over time—that he may learn our people and we may see his fitness for the work.

Doctrinal and practical expectations

We are a Reformed Baptist church holding to the doctrines of grace and the regulative principle of worship. Candidates should agree with us on these points:

  • Subscription to the 1689 London Baptist Confession (or the related 1644, 1646, 1677 confessions, or the New Hampshire Confession).
  • The Christian Sabbath: observance of the Lord’s Day in public and private worship.
  • The King James Bible as God’s preserved word, used in our public preaching and reading.
  • Exclusive, unaccompanied psalmody in congregational singing, as we are persuaded in conscience.
  • Eschatology: we prefer historic amillennialism; we may consider historic premillennialism, not dispensationalism.

Our Lord’s Day services are from 10 a.m. to noon at 321 SE Stanton Rd., Tecumseh, KS 66542. Learn more about our church on the home page or listen to recent sermons.

If you believe you may be suited to this work, please contact our search committee with a letter and résumé, or use the application form below.

Application for Consideration

Please apply to be considered in our pastoral search.

I confess the following:

One of the following confessions is a true representation of how Christians ought to believe and practice:
